Fresh Energy Shots (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Energy-Boosting Apple Ginseng Shot

01 - 1 tsp cinnamon
02 - 1/3 cup blended or juiced blackberries
03 - 1/3 cup blended or juiced blueberries
04 - 1/4 cup ginseng drink (or mix 1/2 teaspoon ginseng extract with 1/4 cup water)
05 - 1/3 cup blended or juiced raspberries
06 - 2 tart green apples, blended or juiced
07 - 1 cup water

→ Ginger Zing Strawberry Orange Shot

08 - 1 tsp cayenne powder
09 - 1.5 cups water
10 - 2.5 ounces fresh ginger root, juiced or blended
11 - 1/4 cup optional honey
12 - 1/2 cup diced strawberries, then blended or juiced
13 - 2 oranges, blended or juiced

# Instructions:

01 - Purée the apples using half a cup of water until the texture looks like applesauce. Move the mix into a bowl.
02 - Throw all the berries, cinnamon, and ginseng drink (or the extract mixture) into the blender. Add the apple puree back in and mix everything until smooth.
03 - Strain the mix using a sieve, pressing gently to push the liquid through. Add one cup of water to the filtered juice and mix it well.
04 - Pour the liquid into small 2-ounce containers for storage. This will yield about 10 to 12 shots.
05 - Blend together the ginger, strawberries, oranges, water, and cayenne. If your blender is small, start with just the fruits and half the water, then add the ginger, cayenne, and the rest of the water.
06 - Use a strainer to separate the juice from the pulp. Stir in the remaining half cup of water and mix in honey if you'd like.
07 - Pour the juice into 2-ounce containers. This should make around 10 to 15 servings.

# Notes:

01 - Two unique ideas for energy drinks: one with a berry-apple twist for mental clarity and a citrus-ginger option for a health boost.
02 - The ginger recipe has a powerful kick from both ginger and cayenne, but honey can soften the spicy edge if needed.
