Onion Beef Rice Bake (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - ¾ cup (1½ sticks) butter, cut into slices
02 - ½ to 1 teaspoon garlic salt, adjust based on your taste
03 - 2 cans (10.5 ounces each) onion soup
04 - 2 cans (10.5 ounces each) beef broth
05 - 1 pound ground beef, preferably lean
06 - 2 cups long-grain white rice, uncooked (no instant varieties)
07 - ¾ cup water

# Instructions:

01 - Fire up your oven to 425°F to preheat. While that’s heating, take out a 9x13-inch dish and give it a good coat of nonstick cooking spray.
02 - Use a large pan to cook the ground beef with a dash of garlic salt. Stir and break it up as you go so it's cooked evenly.
03 - Put the cooked beef and rice into your baking dish. Pour in the soups, the water, and the broth. Stir until it looks evenly mixed.
04 - Place your butter slices right on top of everything. It'll melt down and spread all that butter flavor.
05 - Seal the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the oven for 30 minutes.
06 - Take off the foil and let it cook for another 30 minutes, or until the dish is bubbly and heated through.
07 - When it’s done, grab a fork, fluff it up, and dish it out.

# Notes:

01 - Want fewer dirty dishes? Use a cast iron skillet or Dutch oven—cook the beef in it, toss in the other ingredients, and bake the whole thing!
