Irish Pub Burgers (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

→ Whiskey Aioli

01 - 2 tablespoons of mayo
02 - ½ tablespoon Irish whiskey (or swap with lemon juice)
03 - 1 minced or crushed small garlic clove
04 - A pinch of paprika
05 - Salt and black pepper, adjust to your liking

→ Grilled Onions

06 - 1 thinly sliced small sweet yellow onion
07 - 1 tablespoon of olive oil

→ Burgers

08 - 1 lb ground beef (suggested: 85% lean)
09 - 2 slices of cheddar cheese (or shred it, about 2 oz)
10 - 2 thick-cut bacon slices, halved after cooking
11 - 2 hamburger buns
12 - Salt and pepper, just enough to season

# Instructions:

01 - Stir mayo, whiskey, garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper together in a small bowl. Chill until ready to use.
02 - Warm the oil in a big skillet on medium heat. Toss in the onion slices and stir now and then. Let them cook for 5-7 minutes until they’re golden.
03 - Shape the ground beef into patties and sprinkle with a bit of salt and pepper. Cook on medium heat until done. Add cheese on top and let it melt.
04 - Layer the burger patty with cheese onto the bottom bun. Add bacon, onions, and a drizzle of aioli. Finish with the top bun.

# Notes:

01 - Lemon juice works fine instead of whiskey for the aioli
02 - Double or triple the amounts to make more servings
03 - Smoked paprika can give it a smoky twist
04 - Optional: Toss a little butter in with the onions for extra richness
