Holiday Cookies (Print Version)

# Ingredients:

01 - 1 cup softened unsalted butter.
02 - 2 tablespoons powdered sugar.
03 - ¼ cup sweetened condensed milk.
04 - ¼ cup granulated sugar.
05 - ½ cup sugar for the frosting mixture.
06 - ¾ cup full-fat eggnog for making frosting.
07 - 5 tablespoons flour for the frosting base.
08 - ¼ teaspoon salt for frosting preparation.
09 - ¼ teaspoon baking powder.
10 - ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon.
11 - ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg.
12 - 3 tablespoons white sanding sugar for coating cookies.
13 - 16 red candied cherries sliced in half.
14 - 2 cups all-purpose flour.
15 - ¾ cup softened unsalted butter for frosting production.
16 - ½ teaspoon vanilla extract for flavor.
17 - 1 teaspoon heavy cream for better consistency.

# Instructions:

01 - Mix flour, salt, and sugar in a pan, then add eggnog. Whisk and cook until it's really thick. Let it cool in the fridge for half an hour, then set it out to reach room temp.
02 - Whip together butter, condensed milk, vanilla, cream, and sugars along with the spices until it's smooth. Slowly add the flour till the dough comes together.
03 - Shape dough into tablespoon-sized balls, roll them in sanding sugar. Flatten them into 2-inch rounds using a glass dipped in sugar.
04 - Pop them in the oven at 350°F for a little over 10 minutes, just until the bottoms turn lightly golden. Cool them completely before the next step.
05 - Take your frosting base, whip it until smooth, then bit by bit, whip in softened butter till it's light and fluffy.
06 - Squeeze frosting into little swirls on each cookie. Chill them for half an hour, then place cherry halves on top.

# Notes:

01 - Keep the cookies cold by storing them in the fridge.
02 - You’ll want the frosting to sit at room temp before decorating.
